It’s hard to make the Law of Attraction work for you if you don’t understand how it works. Most self-help teachers will tell you that your thoughts create your reality. Therefore, you only have to change your thoughts to change your life.
But is it that simple? Yes, it can be that simple, but it isn’t always that easy.
You see, the thing is, it’s not exactly our thoughts that create our reality. The mind can help if you know how to use it properly. But it is what comes from the heart that brings us all the things we want, and more.
If you really want to use the Law of Attraction to create a wonderful life, you have to understand how it works first. It’s not a requirement. Some people have an uncanny ability to attract good things into their lives without them consciously knowing how they do it. But if you’ve been trying and not getting any results, you may want to read up on this first.
By the way, trying doesn’t get you the results you want. You might as well stop trying and just have fun. That’s pretty much the Law of Attraction in a nutshell. But, okay, okay, let’s get on with it.
The Pillars of Reality Creation
There are three principles that are the foundation of the Law of Attraction. When you understand them and accept them as inevitable parts of life, it’ll be easier to create a reality that suits your liking.
Principle No. 1: Everything is energy.
There are no exceptions. You are energy. The laptop you’re holding is energy. The chair you’re sitting on is energy. Your thoughts and emotions are energy. When I say everything is energy, I mean every single thing on this planet and out there until the farthest reaches of space is energy.
It fucks with the mind, doesn’t it? How can solid blocks of matter be plain, empty space? If you had an electron microscope and could zoom in until you reach the atoms that make up everything in the universe, you’ll find the answer.
Remember high school chemistry? If you were listening (like I was), our teachers showed us atomic models that looked like the solar system. You have the nucleus in the center surrounded by orbiting electrons. Making it like that definitely made it seem like the atom is a pure, solid object.
But quantum physics shows that’s not true. When you zoom in on the nucleus, you’ll find a sort of blurry sphere that may or may not be there. Like ripples of light and air in the desert. When you reach the place where it is supposed to be, there’s actually nothing there. The nucleus isn’t there. It’s the same with the other parts of the atom.
So, here, at a level that our five limited senses can perceive, it may seem like your butt is being held up by a chair right now. In reality, you’re sitting in midair! Cool, huh?
Principle # 2: You always get what you give.
Energy always attracts the same energy. It never does it any other way. And so, whatever energy that you give out will always be the same energy that you receive.
Let’s take this as an example. Imagine a peaceful, happy person. She always looks at the bright side of things. As a result, she’s always contented with whatever is going on in her life. She loves being with others, and others love being with her too. You could say that this person has a light, joy-filled energy.
What do you think are the kinds of people and experiences she attracts in her life? She always attracts light, joy-filled people and experiences. She never bumps into negative people or disastrous experiences because they simply do not match her energy. And if she does run into glass-half-empty people, she never even notices that part of them that likes to bitch about life. All she sees are beautiful people who have something amazing to share with the world.
In contrast, a person with a very dark energy will always attract the same dark energy he puts out. Have you ever noticed that the people who love to complain always find things to complain about, no matter how trivial they are?
Principle # 3: Thoughts + feelings = the bomb.
Now we’re getting to the good part. I’m just going to come out and say it as it is. It is not your thoughts that attract your life. I repeat. It is not your thoughts that create your reality. No, it’s not “Think and grow rich.” It’s your feelings that are doing the heavy lifting for you. It’s “Feel and grow rich.”
Your thoughts are not entirely useless. You can, in fact, put your mind to good use to help you attract the life you want. But it is not the No. 1 tool in your Law of Attraction arsenal. It is your heart. It is what you feel in your heart that allows you to create the life you desire.
This is the very reason why you can repeat affirmations over and over again and not get a single result out of them. You can tell yourself, “I’m rich as fuck. I’m rich as fuck. I’m rich as fuck.” But if your heart is not feeling rich as fuck, then nothing is going to happen.
Sure, one of these days, your mind may eventually give in and believe that you’re rich. But most of the time, it’s just going to give you even more reasons to prove that you’re not.
When you put the heart into action, you’re more than guaranteed to receive the life you want. The Universe will get out of its own way to impress the hell out of you. It’s not the mind that can make miracles happen. It’s the heart.
