Today, I’m writing about astrology.
AS. TRO. LO. GY. Or how the movement of the stars and planets affects our lives. Or, as how one of my favorite Law of Attraction teachers puts it, how the movement of the stars and planets provides insights into what we are creating.
If you don’t believe in any of that, you can move along now. Shoo. shoo.
Anyway, so–have all the uppity judgmental people moved along yet?–I wanted to point out that on May 5, 2020, the North Node shifted from Cancer, where it has been for more than a year, into Gemini, where it will stay until the start of 2022.
Most of us are familiar with our sun signs, or what we call our zodiac signs. For example, if you’re born between August 23 and September 22, your sun sign is in Virgo. I’m a Virgo. Hello to all my fellow perfectionist control freaks out there.
There are other parts of a person’s astrological chart we don’t often know about. Two of the most crucial aspects are the North and South Nodes. The North Node represents the hard lessons you need to learn in this lifetime, and the South Node represents everything you have mastered in the past or in your past lives and, therefore, need to let go of.
For instance, I have my North Node in Aries and my South Node in Libra, which may explain why I’ve been feeling called to put my own interests first (Aries) because I’ve been such a people-pleaser in the past (Libra). Taking the path of the North Node isn’t easy. It’s not supposed to be.
Interestingly, Duterte has his North Node in Cancer. According to his astrological chart, he needs to learn to drop into his feminine energy, understand women better, be more emotionally sensitive, connect from the heart, and enjoy time at home with his family. His South Node is in Capricorn, meaning he needs to let go of his overwhelming masculine energy, his need to maintain order, his rigid standards of personal achievement, and his mommy issues. Otherwise, he may fall into the dark side, as other natives with the same placements, like Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin, have.
Make of that what you will, of course, but–hot damn!–isn’t it eerily and spectacularly accurate?!
Anyway, as I was saying, the North Node has moved into Gemini on May 5, 2020, which represents the hard lessons we as a collective need to learn during this period.
So what has that got to do with us? The shift took place immediately after the government refused to renew ABS-CBN’s franchise, which expired on May 4, 2020.
Gemini stands for information and communication. It represents, among other things–hello!–news (and fake news!), the free flow and exchange of ideas, and being curious about the world around us.
With the North Node in Gemini, there could be some groups that may try to stop the flow of information. Um, connecting the dots so far? However, and unfortunately for those who are too scared of the power the people step into when they have the right information in their hands, information can no longer be contained.
That’s because there are many channels through which we may receive and send information. And make no mistake about it, these channels are going to be busy during this time.
However, we can’t just sit there and wait for information to drop into our laps. We have to get out there and get curious. We need to ask the right questions, the questions spokespersons dodge. We need to ask the hard questions, the questions that actually pierce through the official web of lies, instead of simply nodding our heads in meek compliance, saying, “Yes, master. I will obey.”
And lastly, but perhaps most importantly, we need to open ourselves up so that we, too, may become channels of free information. We need to clear our minds of the muck, including all the muck we’ve been holding onto in the past because, muck or not, it certainly supports the beliefs we hold of the world and stubbornly hold onto like we’d run out of breath if we let them go.
We need to get out of our echo chambers, no matter how uncomfortable, how triggering, and how unfamiliar it may be, and venture out into other people’s echo chambers, take what we want out of that and leave the rest.
We need to question our familiar sources of information. We need to be more discerning about the way we gather news and filter out the rest that doesn’t fit with “our truths”. We need to entertain the possibility that the guy you’ve just put a label on, unfollowed, and unfriended because he triggers you, disturbs your peace, aggravates your mental health may actually be pointing out a piece of the truth we all need to know about.
They say the truth sets you free. But first, it will hurt like a bitch.
The North Node in Gemini reminds us of the hard lesson we need to learn during this time.
Let the truth hurt us like a bitch, so that later we may set ourselves free.
