Faith is hard.
To place all of your trust in the complete and utter unknown, when we’ve been taught all our lives to look for the physical evidence, is perhaps going to be the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do.
But that’s what you’ll have to do if you’re going to live a soul-led life.
It’s a daunting proposition, but you know in your heart you choose this life over the life you weren’t meant to live. Now that you’ve seen a glimpse of what’s possible for you, you know there’s no going back. Sure, there may be times along the way where you might trip, fall over, and ask yourself who you’re fooling. But you get up anyway and take one more step forward and then another one and another one, even though you really have no idea where this is going to take you, until it finally dawns on you that this is how it was always meant to be.
Until then, you’ll just have to follow the path that’s laid out for you with full trust and faith. Until then, you’ll just have to go blindly in the midst of fear and doubt. Because fear and doubt never really go away. And yes, you can feel all the fear there is to feel and still walk in faith anyway. It’s not true that you have to be completely fearless. It’s not true that you have to be 100% confident in yourself. Faith is moving ahead anyway, despite the presence of fear and doubt, because you know deep down fear and doubt have actually got nothing on you.
But, yes, it’s still not easy. And when you’re just starting out, you get to a point where you want to start looking for proof that you’re doing things right. You need actual, physical, tangible evidence that, hey, this thing called listening to your heart actually works. And your logical, rational mind is looking for something it can wrap itself around, quantify, and categorize just so it can stop wearing you away with its constant chatter even if just for a few minutes.
There’s no proof that it’s all going to be okay. At least, there’s no proof that your mind can understand.
I can tell you to conduct physical experiments whose results you can observe with your physical senses. There are many things you can do.
For starters, work on manifesting something that’s not that much of a deal to you. Choose something fun to bring to life but something that doesn’t really matter if it didn’t show up in your life right now. And choose something that’s a bit specific or uncommon, such as a crown of yellow flowers or a tangerine Volkswagen Beetle or a leopard-print maxi skirt. This way, your mind won’t go around saying, “Yeah, but you manifested a table. That’s not really very powerful. There’s a table in every room.”
Or try this. On a warm sunny day with blue skies and cotton-candy clouds, choose a cloud and melt it with your mind. No, I’m serious. Yes, I said melt the cloud using the power of your mind. No, you don’t need to be a witch to be able to do this. Yes, you need an absolutely un-judging mind.
Now, it’s best that you start with a small, fluffy cloud. Pick any cloud you like. Relax. And then direct all your focus toward that cloud and imagine it surrounded by heat. Within a few minutes, you’ll notice the cloud growing smaller. Just keep going until you’re left with no cloud at all.
And if you’d like to work with money, how about this one? It’s always been said that when you give freely and lovingly, the money always comes back to you multiplied several times over. When I did this experiment, the money came back to me a freakin’ fifty-fold.
Here’s what you need to do. Take a small bill, fold it up inside a piece of paper, and leave it where someone else can find it. It can be anywhere. You can place it on the shelves at the grocery store, insert it between the pages of a library book, or leave it on a bench at the park. Whichever you choose, imagine blessing the person who’s about to receive your money gift as you leave it there. You may even want to write a note, but it’s not necessary. What matters is you’re happily and lovingly giving money to someone else. Now, let that go and leave all expectations behind. The Universe will answer in a way you didn’t expect it to.
These are physical experiments that give you tangible proof that there is at least something out there that the mind cannot explain. But these experiments only go so far in showing proof of your magnificent creative power. After all, what are you going to do with a tangerine Volkswagen Beetle?
And if you’re serious about stepping into your full power, you’re going to want to move beyond creating the small things and bringing to life the huge things that scare you to death. Things like your big dreams coming to fruition, or meeting the man of your dreams, or reverse aging.
By then, it won’t matter that you’ve manifested 32 tangerine Volkswagen Beetles. You’d be far too scared of actually creating the big things that you’d easily forget how many of the small things you’ve brought to life in an instant with a snap of your fingers.
So it’s really up to you if you want to play with the experiments I’ve given you. They’re fun for beginners. And even if you’re not a beginner, it’s still a lot of fun creating all kinds of whimsical stuff just because you can. Plus, it reminds you that you’ve never actually lost touch with your creative manifesting power in the first place.
But it’s also up to you if you want to skip playing with the small stuff and just ask for the big things right away. Despite the labels we put on things, the “big stuff” aren’t really that big at all. We just call them that to refer to the amount of fear that goes with them. The “small stuff” are small stuff only because there’s not a lot of fear surrounding them. You don’t really have any fear around not being able to manifest a crown with yellow flowers, but when it comes to manifesting a successful career, you think there’s a lot at stake, including your self-esteem, your reputation, and your entire future.
But aside from the fear that goes with them, there’s really no difference between the big stuff and the small stuff. The amount of energy it takes to manifest a hamburger is the same amount of energy it takes to manifest a million-dollar business.
So while you’re out there asking for physical proof of your power by practicing with the small stuff, you can actually skip all of that and go straight for the gold anyway. If there’s anything that’s going to magnify your ability to create your reality, it’s going to be this. Quit playing small. Stop thinking you need to do this or that to prove your power first, and then maybe, probably you can then go on to play big, but if and only if the higher powers approve of your bid to go big.
Can I share a secret with you? There is no other higher power that you don’t already have access to. And that higher power wants you to go big. It craves for you to finally stop seeing yourself as the small, insignificant thing you think you are. It’s been cheering you on since the day you got here, and even way before that and after that when you finally decide to leave your human shell. That higher power has always been with you, in you, and is you all along.
But as long as you allow your mind to rule you, you’re going to keep constantly looking for proof of that higher power. It won’t matter that the proof is sitting right in front of you, your mind can’t understand what it’s been taught to refuse to understand.
The proof you’re looking for—the kind that you can hold on to for the rest of your life—isn’t something you can hold with your physical hands. It’s not something you can write about in a scientific paper and have published in a scientific journal, although some scientists are making big headway in that.
The proof is in letting go.
It’s in surrendering to the things your mind can’t understand but some other part of you can weirdly but distinctively sense as true.
It’s in free-falling into a deep abyss expecting to hit your head on a piece of hard rock any moment now, only to find out that you don’t.
The proof of your power won’t show itself until you stop looking for it. And it won’t matter anyway because whether or not you keep looking or you don’t, the proof will always be there. Because your power will always be there. And the proof of your power is your power. It has always been there and it will always be there for as long as you’re in human form. You just have to find it in you to give it up. Let it go. Throw your hands in the air and say, “Fuck the proof. I know it’s there. I can feel it in my bones that it’s there.”
You don’t need it anyway. You think your mind needs it so it can finally stop badgering you to pay attention to your fears. But even with proof sitting right in front of your face, your mind still won’t shut up anyway. That’s how it was designed to work. It was designed to keep distracting you from doing the things you know in your heart you want to do. It was designed to keep distracting you from following your heart.
And even when you’re well on your way to following your heart and living your best life according to what your soul dictates, the mind, like a stubborn little child who wasn’t taught when to stop, will still step in and try to shove your fears into your face anyway. Proof or no proof, you will still stumble upon your old fears and doubts every now and then.
So there’s really no sense looking for proof unless the only reason you have for that is you want to have some fun doing so. Often, though, most people are looking for something outside of them they can pin their hopes on. They think that, somehow, if they find even one small piece of evidence that, yes, they really can create their dream life on their own terms, they might find the courage to go the long haul.
But what proof are you really looking for? Surely, not the tangerine Volkswagen Beetles or the hamburgers or even the clouds that are no longer there. Because if it were, then most people would really have no problem creating the life they want to live.
The proof you’re looking for is already there. It’s not sitting in front of you. It’s there, sitting ever so quietly, ever so patiently, and ever so kindly inside of you, waiting, waiting, waiting for the day you finally give in and go within to find it there yourself.
